De-Fence!

Just in from an awesome night at Madison Square Garden. Unfortunately the Knicks lost 103-108, but it was a cracking match and it had a very tense finale. The atmosphere inside MSG was incredible. This was helped by the fact that every time Philadelphia had possession, we were encouraged to shout DE-FENCE in time with the beat. It was awesome. A hugely different experience from any sport in the UK. Before the match we had to stand for the national anthem, and during the time outs the cheerleaders danced, the Tumblers did their acrobatic stuff, there were games such as Musical Chairs and other things like that. I also saw John McEnroe there which was very cool. I had an awesome evening, and it was very cool that Aoife got really into sport - a rare thing! We bought a foam finger and had a hot dog - the true 'ball experience.

We also went on the ferry to Staten Island today, which passed Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, which was cool. I took plenty of pictures don't you worry, and I aim to purchase a USB transfer cable tomorrow if I can find one. We saw Wall St this morning, which is where George Washington was sworn in as the 1st president and there are millions of American flags! We visited Ground Zero which is indescribable. Breathtaking. They have started rebuilding, but they are only back up to ground level, so I'm sure they will take a while to complete Freedom Tower.

Feeling knackered now as we've walked really far today. Gonna hit the hay very soon. The plan for tomorrow is unknown, but I'm sure it'll be grand.

Loving New York - Good Night!
